To further enhance the capacity of the government to address youth involvement with illegal drugs in the country, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), convened for the National Orientation on Special Drug Education Center (SDEC).
The event gathered regional trainers from DSWD Field Offices across the country to partake in a five-day training, honing their knowledge, skills, and attitude relative to the establishment, operation, and maintenance of SDEC.
DDB Chairperson Oscar Valenzuela opened the program, expressing his eagerness to witness the continued cooperation among agencies and their stakeholders in ensuring the success of SDEC. He also emphasized the importance of its institutionalization, paving the way for a practical and strategic response to drug abuse among out-of-school youth in the Philippines.
