The ST Expo is one of the strategies to inform, and raise awareness on completed, developed, and enhanced social technologies that may also be adopted and replicated by the local government units, academe, civil society organizations, and our regional counterparts. This year’s ST Expo shall focus on the promotion of five programs designed primarily for children, families, indigenous peoples, and people in distressed situations. It will highlight the digital transformation efforts of the bureau to establish a customer-driven transformation of processes and facilitate ease of doing business.

DSWD – introduced social technologies adopted, replicated by 4 LGUs in SOX region
General Santos City – Some local officials in the SOCCSKSARGEN region agreed to adopt or replicate social technologies being introduced to them in a bid to address various social problems experienced in their locality.
Loreto Jr Cabaya, regional director of DSWD12 recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement among identified LGUs that expressed interest and agreed to implement these social technologies. Among the LGUs that signed the MOA were:
1. Municipality of Isulan for Yakap Bayan Program, Buklod Paglaom and SHIELD (child laborers)
2. Surallah for Yakap Bayan Program,
3. Kidapawan for SHIELD and
4. Norala for multiple social technologies.
According to Melfe Ampoloquio of Social Technology Unit, the agency will support the LGUs by providing them technical assistance from preparation to implementation. “These technologies are geared towards improvement of the lives of the people in the region,” she said.
